First off, Congrats to Peyton Manning and his Super Bowl 50
victory! Second, the end of the football season officially means that
baseball’s spring training is right around the corner. Pitchers and catchers
will begin reporting to their respected training campsites around the sunshine
state this week; yes, this week! First practices will begin next week as cities
across the state prepare for the wave of baseball fans that will be traveling
south for the spring.
Spanning, coast-to-coast, the spring training locations are
abundant throughout the central and southern areas of Florida. From Port St.
Lucie and Viera on the Atlantic side to Clearwater and Dunedin on the
Gulf-coast side. As far south as Ft. Myers and Jupiter and as far north as
Orlando in the Wide World of Sports at Disney, fans will have opportunity after
opportunity this March to see their favorite teams and players launch their
seasons that will (hopefully) run through October for them.
Some will travel for a day or two, here and there on off days
or weekends. Others will take vacation days to watch and study their favorite
teams as they prepare their own expectations for what lies ahead of the 2016
MLB season.. Others will simply want to see a baseball game; no other way to
put it. Whatever your reasoning for attending spring training games is, this
season’s Grapefruit league is sure to create more excitement as we gear up for
spring time and our famous past-time, baseball.
Here is the list of teams and their spring training cities
for those who are planning to attend a few, or more of the games and practice
sessions during the 2016 Grapefruit League!
